We Make Ultra Precise Plano Optics
For most laser based systems, the quality of their integrated optics directly affects the overall performance of the optical system or instrument as a whole. For applications such as interferometry and laser mirrors, precision Flatness is typically specified (and measured) as a fraction of a wavelength of light where the typical “standard reference” wavelength is 633nm (Red Helium neon laser). Customers may specify flatness valued at an alternate desired operational wavelength (10.6um, 1064nm, 1550nm, 532nm as examples). A desired flatness at alternate laser wavelengths (i.e. other than 633nm) will be converted to a proportional flatness at 633nm simply for measurement purposes. BMV Optical technologies can manufacturer substrates with a flatness specification of 1/10 wave, 1/20 wave or better. A flatness of 1/20 of a wave translates to a surface deviation of 32nm over a specified clear aperture.
