Mirrors - Metallic & Dielectric

BMV Optical can produce both plano and spherical first surface mirrors in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

Common Shapes include:

• Round
• Square and Rectangular
• Elliptical
• Prism
• Rod and Cone

Tolerances on surface figure for both plano and spherical mirrors can range from a standard commercial polish of 1/4 wave to 1/20 of a wave (@633nm) or better for the most demanding of laser based applications.

While most mirrors are produced from common glass substrates such as Pyrex, Fused Silica or Zerodur, BMV also produces excellent optical quality polishes on metals such as Stainless Steel, Aluminum and copper.

With our in house coating capability BMV can apply protected and enhanced aluminum, silver and gold metallic coatings. BMV can apply multilayer dielectric coatings for either a range of wavelengths or a single wavelength and over a range of angles of incidence.
